If you’re out and about in Ladner on December 8, why not drop into Black Bond Books, where local author Jamie Lamb will be signing copies of of his debut story collection Christmas in Mariposa: Sketches of Canada’s Legendary Little Town.
Lamb’s stories of growing up in Orillia, ON, a place made famous by Stephen Leacock in his hugely succesfull 1912 bestseller Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town, blend elements of memoir, creative non-fiction, and a big dose of humour. An added feature is the way all of the stories link in some way to the magic of Christmas.
Jamie Lamb has been a reporter, film critic, Ottawa bureau chief, and columnist for The Vancouver Sun, and a reporter at the Orillia Daily Packet & Times, Charlottetown Guardian, Peterborough Examiner, Georgetown Herald, Penetanguishene Citizen, and Prince George Citizen. Lamb was a regular commentator on CBC’s Morningside and Newsworld and has written for numerous Canadian and US magazines. He lives in Tsawwassen, BC.
