Heritage House is delighted to share that Isa Milman will be taking part in this year’s JCC Jewish Book Festival with her memoir, Afterlight: In Search of Poetry, History, and Home.

The Cherie Smith JCC Jewish Book Festival is one of Vancouver’s leading cultural and literary events, bringing together prominent and emerging Jewish writers and non-Jewish writers on Jewish subject matter.

Exploring themes of loss and displacement, regeneration and resilience, Afterlight is a haunting and intricate family memoir.

Isa will be part of “Historical Quests” on February 6, at 5:00 p.m. (PT) with author Menachem Kaiser and moderator Dr. Abby Wener Herlin. Tickets are free (register here) and the event will take place online. The event is presented in partnership with the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre.

(Note: The event was initially planned to be in-person, but festival organizers have recently made the decision to hold all events virtually, for the health and safety of the community.)
