Three Heritage House books finalists for Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Historical Writing

On June 4, 2022, the BC Historical Federation announced the recipients for the 2021 Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Historical Writing at the BCHF annual conference.

Heritage House is elated to share the news that three of our books were finalists for the award!

Joseph William McKay: A Metis Business Leader in Colonial British Columbia by Greg Fraser took second prize, worth $1,500.

A Journey Back to Nature: A History of Strathcona Provincial Park by Catherine Marie Gilbert received third place, worth $500.

And Always Pack a Candle: A Nurse in the Cariboo-Chilcotin by Marion McKinnon Crook was awarded the Community History Book Award, worth $500.
